DreamWorks' Megamind Opens Below J.P. Morgan Estimates
It seems that more consumers stayed home this weekend than expected, because DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc.'s (NASDAQ: DWA) Megamind opened at $48M – well below J.P. Morgan's $62M estimate.
“The film will have to play more like How To Train Your Dragon than the majority of historical releases in order to hit our ultimate box office estimate of $208M (we believe the consensus is at ~$195M),” J.P. Morgan writes. “The title's performance next weekend will be key.”
DreamWorks Animation SKG closed Friday at $35.42.
