MBIA Operating Loss Below Estimates

MBIA Inc.'s (NYSE: MBI) operating loss per share was $0.50 versus the Street loss estimate of $0.58 “and our loss estimate of $0.67,” Deutsche Bank reports.

“The $0.50 loss per share is based on our calculations, and it excludes realized investment gains/losses, noncredit impairment unrealized gains/losses on derivatives, and gains from extinguishment of debt,” Deutsche Bank writes. “The net loss per share was $1.06.”

MBIA currently trades at $11.29.
