Share:

After the close on Wed. 3/2, S&P announced weekly sharecount changes impacting three financial companies that will be effective after the close on Wed. 3/9, KBW reports.

“S&P is increasing the sharecount of SLM Corporation (NYSE: SLM) and decreasing the sharecount of Assurant Inc. (NYSE: AIZ) in the S&P 500 Index, and decreasing the sharecount of Piper Jaffray (NYSE: PJC) in the S&P 600,” KBW writes. “We estimate the amount of shares that need to be bought and sold by S&P index funds as a result of these sharecount changes.”

SLM Corporation closed Wednesday at $14.51; Piper Jaffray closed at $41.32; Assurant Inc. closed at $39.45.
