AEO Reports Aggressive Early Season Discounts

American Eagle Outfitters (NYSE: AEO) has enabled pricing declines throughout the summer, with a -18% decline in prices for the season so far, and an average 0.7% decline weekly as we enter September 2010, Piper Jaffray reports.

For September, however, AEO will maintains its regular leadership, while Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (NYSE: ANF) will be slightly less promotional, and Hollister and Aeropostale, Inc (NYSE: ARO) will stay competitive.

American Eagle Outfitters closed yesterday at $13.92.
