Jefferies Provides Color on Gaming and Lodging

Jefferies provided color on the gaming and lodging sector. In a research report published today, Jefferies commented on the expected monthly earnings results of several gaming corporations, which are due this week.

In the report, Jefferies states, “This week in gaming, we expect casino revenue results to be released for the month of June by the Missouri Gaming Commission and New Jersey Casino Control Commission. The Nevada Gaming Control Board should also report casino revenue data, but for the month of May. Overall, we are expecting stabilizing gaming revenue trends during 2Q11, albeit likely volatile for some properties (particularly those located exposed to river flooding) given the recent challenges presented by unfavorable weather. In the case of New Jersey, however, we expect soft performance trends to persist as the eastern Pennsylvania properties continue to draw customer traffic from the Atlantic City market.”
