Why Will Oracle Public Cloud Succeed When Microsoft Azure Has Failed?
“Oracle has got its cloud strategy right,” says Global Equities Research.
“They created their own applications on their own cloud,” Trip Chowdhry wrote in an e-mail update this afternoon. “Not like Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT), which created Azure Cloud, but none of their applications, including Office 365, is an Azure application, and MSFT is asking their customers to build Azure applications, while MSFT themselves don't have any of their applications on Azure Cloud.
“Oracle has built instant credibility with developers by saying Oracle Fusion Apps are built for Oracle Public Cloud, and you can also build yours... Oracle['s] go-to-market strategy is very different than MSFT's and that's the reason we think ORCL Public Cloud may be successful.”
“We do think Oracle Public Cloud has changed the industry structure for Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM), and it may create negative impact on Salesforce.com,” Chowdhry wrote, reiterating his comments from earlier this week. “We are incrementally getting more negative on Salesforce.com stock.”
