UPDATE: Piper Jaffray Raises PT on Monsanto on Midwest Farm Tour
In a report published on Monday, Piper Jaffray analyst Michael E. Cox increased the price target on Monsanto (NYSE: MON) from $133 to $135 and maintained an Overweight rating.
In the report, Piper Jaffary noted that, "Our channel checks with growers and seed dealers is showing strong uptake of Monsanto's refuge-in-a-bag corn seed, which we believe provides an important lift to the price/mix equation...For MON, this means stable pricing for RoundUp herbicide and depleted channel inventory at season end – both of which provide support to segment level margins for MON."
Monsanto closed on Friday at $108.38 and traded at $108.44 at the time of publishing.
