William Blair Analyst On General Electric-3D Systems Takeover Rumor: 'I'm Not Sure They Believe In Owning A 3D Printing Business'
When asked about a rumor that General Electric Company (NYSE: GE) was interested in acquiring 3D Systems Corporation (NYSE: DDD), William Blair & Company analyst Nicholas Heymann said that General Electric has a lot on its plate to get done first.
“GE is a big believer in 3D printing, but I’m not so sure that they believe they have to own the business,” he said.
Heymann added that General Electric’s first job should be to close and integrate Alston Energy, which was one of its biggest acquisitions ever, in addition to closing the divestiture of its appliance business.
General Electrics ended the session 1.1 percent higher. 3D Systems closed up 1.98 percent.
