Brean Sees Twitter's 'Moment' As 'First Major Post-IPO Platform Innovation'
- Twitter Inc (NYSE: TWTR) shares have declined 45.67 percent over the past six months, from the high of $52.87 on April 7.
- Brean Capital’s Sarah Hindlian has maintained a Buy rating on the company, with a price target of $47.
- The company launched its much awaited Project Lightning, under the official name of “Moments” on Monday. Hindlian believes that this is the “first major product innovation since Twitter's IPO.”
According to the Brean Capital report, “Twitter’s Moments is a curated gallery of content organized around events that integrates content from across Twitter's platform into a seamless, intuitive, and engaging experience.”

Analyst Sarah Hindlian believes that Moments not only offers “something for everyone,” it also defines the company as an “advertiser friendly media platform,” especially for live events. Hindlian expects this attractive product, combined with dedicated media campaign during Q4, to help revive interest in Twitter.
Moments is currently only available in the United States, although the company plans to roll out the product across the world over the forthcoming months.
“Moments gives users a way to consume media from across Twitter’s platform in a format designed to tell a cohesive story from many perspectives,” Hindlian stated, adding that although Periscope feeds were not available for now on Moments, it is likely to be a “natural addition to the product.”
“Twitter also simplified its social features so that favoriting, sharing, and following Moments is more intuitive,” the report added.
However, Moments is not expected to drive an immediate re-acceleration in the company’s MAU growth.
