Facebook Unveils Details Of Oculus VR Product Launch
Facebook Inc (NASDAQ: FB) announced the launch of Touch, a virtual reality headset at Oculus Connect, an event held in San Jose, California, and attended by nearly 3,000 people.
The Touch comes on heels of the release of another VR headset called Rift, which was unveiled on March 28, 2016.
Features
Touch would come with VR Sports Challenge and the Unspoken. It also includes an additional sensor and a Rock Band VR connector. The additional sensor would be available for purchase for $79 on Oculus.com at Touch launch. Facebook said the Touch launch lineup will have over 35 titles spanning multiple genres.
Santa Cruz, a feature prototype demonstrating inside-out tracking that opens up the path to standalone as an entirely new VR category, was also unveiled.
Pre-Orders
Pre-orders for Touch, priced at $199, is set to begin on October 10. Facebook fixed the shipping date at December 6.
What more, if you had pre-ordered and purchased Rift through Oculus.com, you may have already reserved your place for Touch pre-orders. Pre-order for Touch can be made using the same e-mail address or from your Oculus account at 11:50 p.m. on October 27.
At time of writing, Facebook shares were down 0.26 percent at $128.40.
