Dick Bove Says Goldman Still A Buy, Blankfein Or Viniar May Have To Go (GS)
Noted Rochdale Securities analyst Dick Bove, has released a note saying that he thinks Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) is still a BUY, but that CEO Lloyd Blankfein or CFO David Viniar may not survive this scandal. He thinks that the company will be forced to offer up a scapegoat.
It really is amazing how this firm has tarnished their once sterling brand name. It doesn't make sense that they would put short term profits ahead of something as valuable as their long term reputation. How can executives justify this? Why has Goldman been so blatantly greedy, tone deaf, and arrogant throughout the subprime mortgage mess and the subsequent fallout?
