Footwear retailer DSW (NYSE: DSW) estimates that its Q1 same-store sales will come in at 16%. The company has also raised its EPS guidance for the full year to $1.65-$1.75, from $1.35-1.45.
Nokia (NYSE: NOK) has unveiled details of its first Symbian 3 phone. The phone is aimed at winning back customers that it has lost to BlackBerry and iPhone. According to analyst Ben Wood, while the phone is "not revolutionary,” it could be the first step in restoring the credibility of NOK’s high-end phones, provided the Symbian 3 phone turns out to be reliable.
Porsche (OTC: POAHF.PK) has recalled all 11,300 Panameras manufactured so far, just months after the line was launched. The recall was made to fix a possible fault in the seatbelt tensioners. The Panamera was meant to boost Porsche’s growth levels and help it poach customers from rivals.
Goldman's (NYSE: GS) Fabrice Tourre will testify that the Abacus deal was not built to fail. "I deny — categorically — the SEC's allegation. And I will defend myself in court against this false claim.”
The only issue that is preventing Continental (NYSE: CAL) and United (NASDAQ: UAUA) from concluding their merger talks is the price tag, according to unidentified sources. Negotiations between the two airlines may collapse if they are unable to reach a compromise in the next few days.
