Bearish Sentiment Soars In Latest AAII Survey

The AAII Sentiment Survey was just released, and Bullish sentiment dropped sharply, as equity markets continued to fall for a fifth straight week.

Bullish sentiment plunged 5.8% to 24.4% from last week. Neutral sentiment also fell sharply, losing 8.5% to go to 27.9%. Conversely, Bearish sentiment jumped 14.2% to 47.7%.

Bullish sentiment is well below the historical average of 39%, and Bearish sentiment is well above the historical average of 30%.

Futures are higher this morning, with Dow futures up 38 points, NASDAQ futures are up 7.5 points, and the S&P 500 futures are up 4.70 points.
