TheStreet's Chris Ciaccia On Tesla: Updates, Range Anxiety Will Have Little Impact On Sales
Speaking to Benzinga, TheStreet Technology Editor Chris Ciaccia that Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) may release an update to allow 100 percent of a battery's charge to be used, based on comments from sources in the industry.
Ciaccia indicated that the batteries only release 97 to 98 percent of their charge and that an Over-the-Air software update could move it closer to the 100 percent level.
The expected update and any other announcements about the Supercharger network might help with range anxiety, however, Ciaccia did not feel it would have a material impact on sales at this point.
Ciaccia also thought the company may make an announcement on the timing or release date for Model X at Thurday's press conference.
Tesla recently traded at $194.33, down 0.7 percent.
