CNNMoney's 40 Under 40 Highlights The Year's Youngest Movers And Shakers
CNNMoney has published a story chronicling the 40 most innovative movers and shakers under 40.
Mark Zuckerberg (#2), the founder and CEO of Facebook, was a no-brainer for the list. Twitter co-founders Evan Williams and Biz Stone (#3) seemed pretty obvious as well. But with names like James Murdoch (#8, Chairman and CEO News Corporation's (NASDAQ: NWSA) Europe and Asia division) and Andrew Mason (#25, Founder and CEO, Groupon), you might be surprised to see LeBron James (#20) on the list.
CNNMoney justifies the Miami Heat star's inclusion by noting the success of his company, LRMR. But unlike Sergey Brin and Larry Page (#5, co-founders of Google, Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG)) and many other names on the list, James didn't build his company from nothing – he built it on his own status as a successful athlete. While his accomplishments are not to be ignored, he is not yet in the same league as Max Levchin (#31, co-founder of PayPal) or Marc Andreessen (#1, co-founder of Netscape, among others).
Then again, the list also includes Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane (#28). He's a talented writers and producer, to be certain. But is he really a major mover and shaker?
