Rattner: "I Think We Can Declare Victory"

“Car Czar,” Steven Rattner, was just interviewed on Yahoo's TechTicker, where he talked about the future of General Motors.

Mr. Rattner cited GM's recent announcement that it had earned $2 billion in the third quarter of 2010, saying, “I think we can declare victory."

As of Q3 General Motors has paid back $9.5 billion of the $50 billion government bailout it received in 2009. Mr. Rattner said that, regardless of if taxpayers get paid back, the bailout and restructuring of General Motors was worth it, both for the company and for the country.
