According to Jason Harper at Bloomberg, the American car companies such as General Motors (NYSE: GM) and Ford (NYSE: F) have managed to take several slots in the listing, with Chevy's Volt taking the Best Green AND Best Car Overall vote.

Other cars include the 2011 Ford Fiesta being named as the Best Economy Car, the 2011 Ford Mustang GT taking the Best Sports Car, and even Kia's 2011 Sorento made the Best Crossover/Family Car, which poses Jason Harper to ask the question: can this be right?

Other mentions on the list are Best Convertible and Best Executive Sedan, which were named as 2011 Audi R8 Spyder and 2011 Jaguar XJ L, respectively.
