The Davos Cloud: What They Are Talking About
Dr. Paul Kedrosky, prominent investor and editor of fin-blog "Infectious Greed", has created a tag cloud of the most-used words at Davos this week. The cloud has been made using words that feature in the topics of the 227 sessions scheduled at this year’s World Economic Forum. Certain Davos-only words like “global”, “redesigning”, “rebuilding” etc have been removed to avoid skewing results.
Quite predictably, “growth”, “economic”, “world”, “science” and “agenda” are the most prominent tags. Other, less conspicuous tags are “business”, “change”, “social”, and “values”. Interestingly, topics that would have seemed likely to have a great impact in the near future, like “ageing”, “climate”, “innovation”, and “governance” are next to invisible in the cloud. They could, of course, feature as a part of a session.
