Conan O'Brien Moves To TBS TWX, Pushes Lopez Show Back One Hour

After months of speculation about where he would finally end up, former "Tonight Show" host Conan O'Brien has signed a deal with Time Warner Inc. (NYSE: TWX) owned Turner Broadcasting System.

O'Brien will get a new one hour show during the 11 PM time slot that will act as lead in to George Lopez's "Lopez Tonight."

There had been much talk about O'Brien possibly moving to the News Corporation (Nasdaq: NWS) owned Fox Broadcasting Network.

However, the Fox network affiliates resisted the move, perhaps weary of what the network's conservative audience would have thought of a late night show whose host was known for running jokes like the "Masturbating Bear".

Jay Leno was the host of the "Tonight Show" before and after O'Brien and was widely vilified after NBC offered to push O'Brien's show back thirty minutes and give Leno back his old time slot.

However, Leno may be having a laugh at O'Brien's latest move: in order to make room for O'Brien's new show, George Lopez's show will be pushed back one hour.
