Rockstar Upgrades Red Dead Redemption For One Video Game System, But What About Others?

Take-Two Interactive Software Inc.'s (NASDAQ: TTWO) Rockstar quietly added a 60 frames per second (fps) option to "Red Dead Redemption" on PlayStation 5, but players on other platforms are wondering when they'll get the same upgrade.

The game currently runs at 30fps on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, and there is no Xbox version, IGN reported.

This situation has left some Xbox players wondering if Microsoft might employ its FPS Boost technology to elevate Red Dead Redemption to 60fps. However, that outcome seems unlikely at this point.

Fans have also speculated about the possibility of Rockstar's releasing an Xbox One port of the game, but two months after the launch of the PS4 and Nintendo Switch ports, such a move appears improbable.

For PC gamers, the situation is even more disheartening, as Rockstar has never released Red Dead Redemption on the PC platform, and there have been no indications of a change in this stance.

Meanwhile, fans of Red Dead Redemption 2 are eagerly awaiting news of a potential next-gen update, following a leak on Xbox last month that suggested such an update was in development.

Separately, it appears that Rockstar's focus is shifting toward upcoming projects like Grand Theft Auto 6, indicating a potential decline in attention toward the Red Dead franchise despite its enduring popularity among gamers.
