Resident Evil 9 is reportedly in development and slated for a January 2025 release.

According to a reliable source within the Resident Evil community, known as Dusk Golem (via Insider Gaming), the game has been in development for seven years.

"January 2025 I hadn't heard now, just been a date I'd heard previously they probably are still aiming for, but never know in game dev,” the source tweeted. “I won't leak/rumor any other details of the game, just let Capcom do their thing & let them surprise people."

Resident Evil 4 Remake was the most recent installment in the franchise, achieving significant commercial success. With over seven million units sold, it’s evident that the Resident Evil series remains immensely popular.

Overall, Resident Evil stands as Capcom ADR‘s (OTC:CCOEY) top-selling franchise, with more than 154 million copies sold since its inception in 1996.
