A year has passed since Rockstar Games released the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, and fans are still waiting for more news.

With no updates from Rockstar, some have taken matters into their own hands, using the trailer as a blueprint to recreate parts of the game themselves.

YouTuber Builds GTA 6 Scenes In GTA 5

One example comes from YouTuber Dark Space, who recreated scenes from the GTA 6 trailer using the GTA 5 engine and custom assets, as spotted by Eurogamer.

Their video includes a reimagined version of Vice Beach streets and the downtown Stockyard area. At first glance, the visuals could almost pass as official Rockstar footage.

Dark Space also created a version of a rumored cutscene where players use a truck to rip a safe out of a pawn shop with a chain. "It'll be interesting to see how close to the final game all of this looks — whenever the time comes," they commented.

In another section of the video, Dark Space compares the potential map size of GTA 6 to GTA 5. By flying a plane over both maps at the same speed, they estimate that GTA 6 will have a much larger map, though exact details remain unknown.

According to Rockstar's publisher, Take-Two Interactive Software Inc (NASDAQ:TTWO), GTA 6 is set to launch in late 2025. It will be part of a packed year for the company, which also plans to release Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country by March 2026.
