A Look Into 4 Small-Cap Stock Moves Leon Cooperman Disclosed On Thursday
- Leon Cooperman, investor and manager of hedge fund Omega Advisors, disclosed four stock moves on Thursday.
- The four 13G filings showed increases in the investors’ passive stakes in Altisource Portfolio Solutions S.A. (NASDAQ: ASPS), Arbor Realty Trust Inc (NYSE: ABR), Chimera Investment Corporation (NYSE: CIM) and over-the-counter traded Aspen Group Inc (OTC: ASPU).
Arbor Realty Trust
Cooperman disclosed a huge increase in his wage on Arbor Realty Trust, from 70,000 shares held as of the end of the third quarter of 2015, to 4,899,144 shares owned by February 4. This stake represents 9.7 percent of the company’s total shares of Common Stock outstanding, and makes him the largest institutional investor of record.
Altisource Portfolio Solutions
The hedge fund manager also boosted his stake in Altisource Portfolio Solutions by 9.7 percent to 1,662,472 shares of Common Stock, which account for 8.6 percent of the total shares outstanding. This makes him the second-largest hedge fund investor in the company, only trailing Christian Leone’s Luxor Capital Group, which disclosed ownership of 1,867,392 as of the end of the third quarter of 2015.
Chimera Investment Corporation
Cooperman already was the largest institutional investor in Chimera by the end of the third quarter of 2015. However, he has now boosted his exposure to the stock by 33.2 percent, to 18,737,761 shares, or 9.9 percent of the total shares of Common Stock outstanding.
Aspen Group
Finally, Cooperman started a new position in over-the-counter traded Aspen Group, of which he acquired 12,000,010 shares of Common Stock, or 9.3 percent of the company’s total outstanding stock.
