The markets kicked off the week in the green after the world's largest heavy-machinery maker posted quarterly results that blew past estimates, and two major companies unveiled takeover plans.
Today's Markets As of 9:32 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 33.9 points, or 0.31%, to 11,847, the S&P 500 gained 3.7 points, or 0.3%, to 1,242, and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 7.8 points, or 0.3%, to 2,646.
