Does Anyone Care About Clinton Anymore?
This past Sunday, former president Bill Clinton spoke to a high school auditorium in Detroit that had fewer than 1,000 people in attendance.
Some, like Manny Lopez at the Detroit News, believe that it may be due to Clinton's endorsement of Virg Bernero, which resulted in yet another failed political boost for Michigan, making Clinton the latest example of the people's intolerance of political instability.
"It was like a person on his deathbed getting a visit from his idol for five to 10 minutes," Detroit political consultant Adolph Mongo told the Michigan Information & Research Service. "He couldn't do anything. It's too late."
Others believe that Michigan has been privy to Democratic nonsense for the past eight years and that the era must come to an end.
When asked why her approval rating was so low (in the 30s), Governor Jennifer Granholm was quoted saying "it's low because people are impatient."
All of this does not mean that Republicans will necessarily save the day, because that party hasn't proven that recovery is as easily obtainable as they try to make us all believe. The next term of leadership will need time to show improvement, but one thing can be agreed upon by all: a REAL change must come.
