US Trade Office Acknowledges EU-Boeing Report
The U.S. Trade Representative office reported the receipt of an interim report from the WTO against Boeing Company (NYSE: BA), alleging government subsidies to the company. The trade office refused to comment in order to maintain the confidentiality of the report.
The office said, "We can confirm that we have received the confidential interim report from the WTO panel hearing the European Union's challenge to alleged U.S. subsidies to Boeing." The US trade office added, "This dispute has proven to be one of the most complex and lengthy disputes under the WTO."
The Chicago aerospace giant was accused by the European Union of a $24 billion profit in subsidies. BA shares fell 0.54% to $62.42 at 11:14 am.
Boeing shares have fallen 3.21% over last month and have gained 18.13% so far this year.
