Tech Stocks Add To Earlier Loss, RIMM And JBL Among Top Decliners (RIMM, JBL, AAPL, DELL, MSFT, GOOG)
US Technology stocks fell to add to their decline in previous sessions. Shares of Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ: RIMM) and Jabil Circuit Inc (NYSE: JBL) were the top losers in the list.
RIMM has launched the PlayBook in response to the iPad by Apple Inc (NASDAQ: AAPL). The PlayBook is likely to hit the market in the beginning of 2011. RIMM shares are down about 3.60%.
Shares of Jabil Circuit Inc dropped about 4.6% a day after the company reported a Q4 profit of $0.27 per share, up from $0.03 per share, in the year-ago period. The company posted its core earnings at $0.52 per share. The company's revenue came in at $3.86 billion. However, analysts had expected the company to report earnings of $0.48 per share, on $3.89 billion in revenue.
Other decliners in the list include Dell Inc (NASDAQ: DELL), Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ: MSFT), AAPL and Google Inc (NASDAQ: GOOG).
The Nasdaq Composite Index is down about 0.07%, while the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index (SOX) moved up about 1.15%. The Morgan Stanley High Tech 35 Index (MSH) dipped about 0.04%.
