Afternoon Market Update
Shares of NetApp Inc (NASDAQ: NTAP) surged about 7%, a day after the company reported better-than-expected quarterly results. Canaccord Genuity analyst Paul Mansky upgraded the stock from “hold” to “buy.”
US Energy stocks gained along with the wider market. The NYSE Arca Oil Index (XOI) rose about 2.15%, while the NYSE Arca Natural Gas Index (XNG) moved up about 1.53%. The Philadelphia Oil Service Index (OSX) gained about 2.39%.
Shares of Union Pacific Corp (NYSE: UNP) rose about 1.9% after the company lifted its dividend by 15% to $0.38 per share. The dividend will be payable on January 3 to the shareholders, as of record on November 30.
