Gasparino: "Informal Requests Are No Different Than Subpoenas" In SEC Probe Of David Sokol For Insider Trading

FOX Business Network (FBN) Senior Correspondent Charlie Gasparino reports that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is “disputing Buffet's interpretation of the Sokol inquiry” in the sense that they consider “informal requests” for information to be “no different than subpoenas.” A senior SEC official tells Gasparino that “Buffett is drawing a distinction without a difference.” Excerpts from the report are below, courtesy of Fox Business Network.

On whether there is currently a formal investigation into David Sokol for insider trading:

“Regulatory sources are telling the FOX Business Network the SEC is disputing Buffett's interpretation of the Sokol inquiry. Informal requests for information about the Sokol trade are no different than subpoenas. A senior SEC official is telling regulatory sources that Buffett is drawing a distinction without a difference.”
