Air Methods (AIRM) Shares Fall In After Hours Trading
Shares of Air Methods Corporation (NASDAQ: AIRM) fell nearly 4% in after hours trading after the air medical emergency transport company reported earnings that missed analysts consensus estimates.
Air Methods Corporation reported that its 4th quarter net income fell to $2.7 million, or 22 cents per share, down from $3.7 million, or 30 cents per share, a year earlier, while revenue rose just 1% to $120.2 million.
According to a survey of analysts by Thomson Reuters, the average analyst estimate was earnings of 27 cents per share, on revenue of $121.6 million.
For the year 2009, Air Methods earnings rose 50% to $29 million, or $2.33 per share, up from $19.3 million, or $1.54 per share, for 2008. Revenue rose to $510.6 million, up from $498.8 million in 2008.
The average analysts estimate was earnings of $2.37 per share, on revenue of $510.7 million.
