Prosecutors Target FTX Founder Bankman-Fried's Luxury Jets In DOJ Forfeiture Action

U.S. prosecutors have set their sights on two luxury aircraft believed to be associated with  former FTX (CRYPTO: FTT) CEO and founder Sam Bankman-Fried.

These jets, although reportedly owned by Bankman-Fried, have never been utilized by the disgraced entrepreneur.

This revelation comes ahead of the much-anticipated Benzinga's Future of Digital Assets conference on Nov. 14, where discussions on the evolving landscape of digital assets are expected to take center stage.

The Department of Justice's forfeiture bill, filed on Wednesday, specifically identifies a Bombardier Global 5000 BD-700-1A11 aircraft and an Embraer Legacy EMB-135BJ aircraft as potential assets for seizure.

Both aircraft are detailed with their respective registration numbers and manufacturer serial numbers.

The document cites the offenses described in multiple counts of the indictment against Bankman-Fried.

The potential forfeiture is in line with various U.S. codes pertaining to property subject to confiscation as a result of offenses.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams and Assistant U.S. Attorney Samuel L. Raymond are overseeing the case, as indicated in the Oct. 4 court filing.
