Ford Recalls 422,000 Sports Utility Vehicles On Faulty Rearview Camera Image Display: Report
  • Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) reportedly plans to recall 422,000 sport utility vehicles in the U.S. on facing issues with the rearview camera image from displaying.
  • The automaker is working with suppliers to identify the "root cause" and provide the correct remedy as quickly as possible, Reuters reported.

  • The company plans to recall Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator from 2020 through 2023.
  • In addition, 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair SUVs with 360-degree cameras will also be recalled.
  • Car owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by the company on June 26.
  • Earlier this month, BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke ADR) (OTC: BMWYYreportedly issued a "do not drive" alert for the 90,000 affected sedans and SUVs with faulty airbags.
  • Ford has recently been in the headlines for slashing jobs while focusing on investing more than $50 billion through 2026 in electric vehicles and battery components.
  • Ford is on track to reach an annual targeted production run rate of 600,000 electric vehicles globally by the end of 2023. 
  • Price Action: F shares are trading higher by 1.13% to $11.63 on the last check Thursday.
