Live Cattle Futures Little Lower

February live cattle is trading at 119.35, down 0.32 cents/lb. April live cattle is trading at 118.05, down 0.35 cents/lb. June live cattle is trading at 107.87, down 0.27 cents/lb

Live cattle futures are trading lower just after the open.

Market chatter about yesterday's USDA cold storage release showing record highs of beef stock in the nations freezers is making the rounds. Talk about cash prices is constant.

Tuesday's USDA cattle slaughter was 111,000 head. The total slaughter for the week is now 226,000 head versus a year ago at 223,000 head.
