February live cattle is trading at 116.50, up 0.30 cents/lb. April live cattle is trading at 114.87, up 0.05 cents/lb. June live cattle is trading at 104.75, up 0.20 cents/lb

Live cattle futures are trading steady to higher after Monday's plunge.

Market chatter about cash prices and consumer demand ahead is making the rounds.

Monday's USDA cattle slaughter was 115,000 head versus 111,000 head a year ago.
