Live Cattle Futures Higher

April live cattle is trading at 116.80, up 0.72 cents/lb. June live cattle is trading at 107.02, up 0.60 cents/lb

Live cattle futures are trading choppy and near the session highs.

Market chatter about the upcoming cattle on feed report and cash prices is making the rounds.

Wednesday's USDA cattle slaughter was 114,000 head versus 105,000 head a year ago. The total cattle slaughter for the week is now 331,000 head versus 320,000 head a year ago.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) monthly cold storage report is due out at 3:00 p.m. ET

The agency's monthly cattle of feed report is due out Friday at 3:00 p.m. ET.
