Live Cattle Futures Lower

April live cattle is trading at 115.75, down 0.35 cents/lb. June live cattle is trading at 106.30, down 0.42 cents/lb

Live cattle futures are trading choppy and lower on the session.

Chatter about consumer demand ahead and cash prices has kept buyers and sellers active.

Thursday's USDA cattle slaughter was 115,000 head versus 114,000 head a year ago.

The total cattle slaughter for the week is now 461,000 head versus 429,000 head a year ago.
