Live Cattle Futures Higher

April live cattle is trading at 116.87, up 0.90 cents/lb. June live cattle is trading at 107.00, up 0.75 cents/lb

Live cattle futures are trading choppy and near the session highs.

Chatter about cash prices ahead and consumer demand is making the rounds.

Wednesday's USDA cattle slaughter was 115,000 head versus 112,000 head a year ago.

The total cattle slaughter for the week is now 344,000 head versus 327,000 head a year ago.
