Lean Hog Futures Lower

April lean hogs are trading at 67.67, down 0.42 cents/lb. June lean hogs are trading at 76.50, down 0.42 cents/lb

Lean hog futures are trading lower just after the open. Trading is choppy.

Talk about cash prices and trade policy is making the rounds is making the rounds.

Friday's USDA hog slaughter was 440,000 head versus 436,000 head a year ago.

The total hog slaughter for the week is now 1,767,000 head versus 1,736,000 head a year ago.
