Tweeting On The Farm

Share:

If you thought that Twitter was just for socializing and Charlie Sheen one-liners, think again.

Contrary to popular belief, farmers are no longer the low-tech countrymen that once ruled the agriculture industry. CNBC reports that today's farmers are in front of their computers – tweeting, sending instant messages, and communicating online.

More significantly, farmers are using Twitter to share info and ideas that are of great use to ag investors.

So what are grains traders looking for? Soil conditions, planting intensions, harvest results – anything and everything, CNBC says, that could give them an edge. Thanks to Twitter, these traders are getting just that.
