PSP2 Speculation Increases On The Cusp Of Nintendo Announcement (SNE)

In addition to CNET, Eurogamer, and other publications that have picked up on the report (rumor?) that Sony (NYSE: SNE) will unveil the long-awaited PlayStation Portable 2 on January 27, Bloomberg is now reporting on the news.

According to Bloomberg, two people with “knowledge of the plans” have confirmed that an announcement will be made on January 27 regarding the PSP2, followed by another announcement regarding the long-rumored PSP phone in February.

Interestingly, Sony is also expected to outline its strategy regarding how it plans to take advantage of its networked entertainment services to share games, movies and music among its various devices (TVs, computers, handheld devices, etc.).

This news comes literally hours before Nintendo is expected to announce its North American plans for the Nintendo 3DS.
