HTC Aims To Beat iPad, Undercut PlayBook (AAPL, RIMM)

BGR reports (via DigiTimes) that HTC is prepping a new Android 2.3-powered tablet (codenamed Flyer) for release in March.

If this info proves to be true, HTC will beat Research in Motion's (NASDAQ: RIMM) PlayBook – the most anticipated tablet since Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPad – to market.

The proposed March release date would also undercut the Motorola (NYSE: MMI) Xoom, and produce additional competition for Dell (NASDAQ: DELL) and HP (NYSE: HPQ).
