General Atlantic Buys Stake In Facebook

Private equity firm General Atlantic has purchased a stake in Facebook which values the company at $65 billion, up $15 billion from the $50 billion that the Goldman Sachs investment valued it at.

General Atlantic has $17 billion in capital, and generally makes between 8 and 12 investments per year. Most of its investments are between $50 and $500 million in size.
