Market Overview

News Corp. (NASDAQ: NWSA) is facing new head winds to complete its purchase for British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC due to political repercussions from a scandal at its British tabloid, News of the World. News of the World, which is being shut down, supposedly hacked into the mobile-phone voice mails of people ranging from celebrities and politicians to murder victims. I wish they would've hacked into "The Simpsons" and made it end years ago. Another News Corp. property well past its prime.

A unit of Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS) took $15 billion from the U.S. Federal Reserve on Dec. 9, 2008, the biggest loan from a lending program that was kept secret until today. Hard to believe that "Government Sachs" benefited from cheap money from the Fed.
