Magic Johnson and Dan Gilbert Team Up to Save Detroit?

It seems that an NBA legend and the Quicken Loans founder/chairman are about to join forces at Detroit Venture Partners.

The news isn't official just yet, but according to the Associated Press, Gilbert said that he will announce an addition to his company later today. His spokespeople confirmed that a “sports legend and Hall-of-Famer” will be the venture capital firm's newest member.

Meanwhile, Magic Johnson recently tweeted that he will be “making a big announcement in Detroit” today and that he looks “forward to help putting people back to work in my home state.”

At press time, Gilbert had not yet confirmed who will join Detroit Venture Partners.
