Galaxy S II Details on August 29, Just Days Before the iPhone 5 is Rumored to be Announced

TechCrunch is reporting that full details regarding the U.S. launch of the Galaxy S II will be announced on August 29.

The timing of this announcement is particularly interesting because the iPhone 5 is expected to be unveiled in America on September 7.

While the Galaxy S II has been crushing the competition in Korea, Samsung faces a tough battle when it launches its next-gen phone in the Unites States. Assuming that Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) won't decide to announce the iPhone 5 a little sooner (unlikely), the Galaxy S II should acquire at least one day of uninterrupted media hype.
