LivingSocial App Gets an Update, Now Supports Twitter Integration in iOS 5
Got an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch? LivingSocial has an app (and an update) for you.
LivingSocial has announced this morning that it has updated its app to support the new Twitter integration features in Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) latest iOS.
“Creating an easy and fun mobile experience for our members is of paramount interest to LivingSocial and integrating with Twitter on iOS 5 gives us a new and valuable social distribution channel,” Aaron Batalion, Co-Founder and CTO of LivingSocial, said in a press release. “Working directly with Twitter significantly cut down our development time, allowing us to provide a frictionless way for members to find and share the deals they purchase as soon as iOS 5 went live.”
Since iOS 5 allows you to sign into Twitter once and continue tweeting with whatever app you desire, LivingSocial says its app now provides a “quicker path to free deals through LivingSocial's me+3 program.”
That program rewards customers who make a LivingSocial purchase by offering a unique URL, which can be shared with others. When three people use that URL to purchase a deal, the referring member gets theirs for free.
