Starbucks' Biggest Fan is a Real Patriot

New England Patriots wide receiver Chad Ochocinco was robbed this week. But it wasn't the loss of his ID or credit cards that frustrated him.

The thing that bugged him the most was the loss of his Starbucks (NASDAQ: SBUX) gold card.

Ochocinco was so troubled by the incident that he released a video on the matter, which can be viewed on ESPN.

"I earned the gold card," Ochocinco said in the video. "You know how many coffees I've had to drink and lemon loafs I've had to purchase to get to that gold card? I had $220 left on my Starbucks card. Not just any Starbucks card, but a gold Starbucks card."

What makes the gold card so darn special? For starters, Ochocinco had to purchase 30 drinks to reach "gold" status. Second, gold card members receive free syrup or soy milk in any coffee they purchase (they also get free refills on any size drink). Finally, members can earn a free drink just for purchasing another 15 cups of coffee -- or any other Starbucks beverage they desire.

Remember this the next time Starbucks attempts to charge you extra for a full glass with no ice (or ice on the side, as I prefer). Order it as usual, drink it down fast, and go back up to the counter for a refill.
