Detroit Making The Spotlight on National TV Once Again, But This Time Its Positive

"Morning Joe," MSNBC's morning program, will be focused on Detroit for its show Thursday, as it broadcasts from Ford Motor Company's (NYSE: F) assembly line in Flat Rock, Michigan.

In pursuit of its Detroit focus, the program will feature Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, real estate investor and Chairman of Quicken Loans Dan Gilbert, Ford President and CEO Alan Mulally and Detroit Lions President Tom Lewand.

The event will be a prelude to Ford's kick off event for its new Fusion production line in the United States, which is expected to generate 1,400 American jobs.

Detroit has taken quite a bit of heat as of late following the announcement of its bankruptcy earlier this summer. The show is expected to show some of the positive things going on in the city, specifically on the private sector side.
