Slideshow: Amazon's Rumored 2014 Product Lineup
Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) is beginning to look at lot like Apple.
The online retail giant has been gradually picking up steam as a manufacturer of low-cost electronics, starting with e-readers.
After releasing a number of Kindles, the company launched its first tablet -- the Kindle Fire. Several additional tablets have followed.
In 2014, Amazon is expected to add many more items to its product lineup, along with the usual batch of upgrades. Peruse the slideshow to take a look.

Amazon's First Game Console
Originally thought to be released in time to compete with Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Amazon's first game console seems to have missed its window for a 2013 release.
The console is expected to get its own controller, allowing players to use the device without a tablet.
The processor is not expected to come from the typical group of console chip manufacturers (AMD and NVIDIA) and may instead come from Qualcomm instead.

Amazon's First Smartphone
The company is thought to be developing a couple different smartphone concepts.
One of them is for a 3D smartphone.
Few details are known about this product, but the user won't be required to wear glasses to see the 3D effect.
The second smartphone concept is a bit more traditional.
According to DigiTimes, Amazon is working on a smartphone that will feature a 4.7-inch display.
With a display that large, the device is close to approaching phablet territory.

Amazon's First Set-Top Box
Believe it or not, Amazon is rumored to release two TV-connected devices.
In addition to the one that's targeted at gamers, the company is expected to launch a set-top box that is very similar to Apple TV.
The device is reportedly being designed to give Amazon users access to the company's massive video library, right from a TV.
The product has been hit with several delays, however, preventing a 2013 release.

Low-Cost Kindle Fire
Can the Kindle Fire get any cheaper?
The cheapest iteration now retails for $139.
Next year, an even cheaper model could be on the way.
According to a TechnoBuffalo translation of a report by Economic Daily in Taiwan, the cheap tablet will feature a dual-core processors (an A15 and A7) and a powerVR Series 6 GPU.

New Kindle Paperwhite
The next-generation Kindle Paperwhite sounds very promising.
Starting with a 300 ppi display, the 2014 Kindle Paperwhite could be the best e-reader yet.
It is expected to contain an improved light sensor for automatic brightness adjustment, improved typography options, and squeezable edges that function as page-turning buttons.
