Who takes the biggest cut of our tax money?

The military, according to an infographic from the National Priorities Project.

The average tax payer in the United States paid $11,715 in taxes in 2013, the research organization says. Each person gave about $3,174.25 for the military, which includes $81.50 for nuclear weapons.

After military is healthcare costs, unemployment and veteran benefits. Energy and the environment received roughly $217.25 from each taxpayer, while science received the smallest portion of our taxes with only $131.29. More than ten times that amount came out of each of our taxes to pay the interest on our national debt -- $1,624.68.
